Hello everyone and welcome to Blogmas day 5!
Todays post is all about my winter skincare routine. This is actually my first ever skincare routine post so that is cool.
Changing my skincare up during the winter is so important for me as i know that if i dont, my skin will be so dry. I suffer with really bad dry skin and during the colder months it is definiely worse so I need all the moistuiser I can get.
Removal of makeup-
I have been using the Camomile Cleansing Balm this stuff is the bomb for removing your makeup. All you do is rub the balm into your skin and it will wipe away your makeup, then you can either wash it off or wipe it off. I like using this, because it is camomile and it really calms my skin and makes my skin super soft also because it moisturises your skin aswell as taking your makeup off. Basically a two in one, if you have oily skin this might not be the best for your because it is like an oily moisturiser, but if you have dry skin then this is going to be great for you.
This product is a staple for me. I love using the St. Ives Apricot Scrub as this stuff is genius. It has the right amount of sand granules inside to buff away any dry skin and because you use your fingers to rub it in, you can into the smaller parts of your face. I use this near enough every single day as I think it is so important to get rid of any junk left on your face. I also have sensitive skin and this does not irritate my skin in any way which makes me so happy because this stuff is amazing. It smells really good and I would highly recommend if you are into daily scrubbing.
I use the Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser this is definitely one of the newer ones that I have started using over the last couple of months and I absolutely love it. I immediately noticed that when I used it, it got rid of any spots or dry patches on my skin which was great. It does smell clinical though, but this isn’t a scent that would put me off not using it. You can use this to either remove your makeup or just to cleanse and I use it to cleanse so I will use the Camomile butter to remove my makeup and then use this just in case I missed anything. A little bit goes a long way and the consistency of the product inside is really thick, it looks like a lotion. I love the way it makes my skin feel, it gets rid of any dirt on my face and you can feel that your face doesn’t have any grim left on it either. I really enjoy using this, because my skin really likes the hot cloth method as it opens my pores and gets rid of the dirt then they close again. I also enjoy doing it as I have noticed a difference since using it so far, so I am naturally going to reach for it more.
Another cleanser I use on the daily is the Biore Charcoal Cleanser I probably shouldn’t use it every single day, but I do because it is so good. I use this when I am in the shower as I find it less messy than when I do it over the sink. This product really clears your pores and for me prevents spots. I used it for ages and then I stopped using it, I got so many spots so I have been using it again for the last couple of months. It really opens your pours and gets rid of all of the dirt inside. You pump some into your hands and rub it into your skin, it goes from a gel formula to a foamy consistency the more you rub it in. If you have sensitive skin, I would say don’t leave it on your face for too long before washing it off as it burns your skin. I use this one first then use the Liz Earle one.
I HAVE BEEN USING THIS MOISTURISER SINCE DAY!!! it is the Aveeno moistuiser – this moistures is an ABSOLUTE GOD SEND! This is such a brilliant moisturiser. If you suffer with dry skin, then this is an essential in your skin care routine. It is oat based, so it has a lot of oat oils and oat essence inside which is really good for moisturising your skin. The product does smell really oats which I am sure you would have guessed, but this doesn’t put me off using it. I use this in the morning when I first wake up, and I let it sink in to my skin before applying anything else. At night, I do my nighttime cleanse and get rid of all of the makeup on my face and then I will apply this. It is a really thick moisuriser that applies evenly onto the face. When you use it, YOU INSTANTLY SEE/FEEL A DIFFERENCE. If you have dry skin then you NEED THIS! I will forever continue to buy this as I have never found a moisturiser that is like this.
Looking after your lips is just as important as looking after your skin. It is so important to scrub them every now and again to get rid of the dry skin. If you love wearing lipstick, especially matte liquid lipsticks then this is something you should be doing. I use the Essence Lip Scrub and I like to use this one because it is £1, lasts such a long time and I would prefer to get a cheaper lip scrub then a more expensive one as they all do the job. You need to buff away any of the dry nasty dead skin on your lips, which is also help with the application and finishing result when applying lipstick. I like to use a lip scrub and then use a moisturiser.
I will also apply then apply the Clarins Lip Oil in the shade Tangerine as this one smells amazing! I will apply this while I am in bed so I will fall asleep with it on my lips and it is like magic, it is instantly going to make your lips soft and moisturised by the morning. It is really thick, it has the same consistency as honey or golden syrup. I really liked this flavour/shade as it smells and tastes amazing.
In the morning I will use the Fiji Facial Oil
because in the morning I like to give my face extra moisture before applying makeup. This smells really good and although this is the sample, it has lasted me for such a long time.
This is the newer piece of skincare that I have recently started using and it is the Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate and I love it. it really hydrates my skin before I go to sleep and I love that my skin wakes up night have hydrated. It smells really nice and every time I use it, I enjoy using it. You push the top of the lid in and pull out the little tube that sucks the oil up and then you place it on your face and push the lid again. I have noticed such a difference in my skin since using it, I don’t have any dry skin and my face feels more awake in the morning.
I would highly recommend all of these products.
Do you use any of these? what is your favourite thing about your winter skincare at the moment?
